Before any visual design, we mapped how journaling, goal tracking, and self-reflection would work as one connected system rather than three separate features. Life areas group personal goals with their own tactics and progress tracking, while three distinct question flows handle different kinds of thinking — freeform issue-tagging for problem-solving, a step-by-step wizard for big decisions, and a long-form summary for an annual review. Every completed questionnaire can be published straight into the journal, so structured reflection becomes part of the user's personal record.

High-Fidelity Design

The final interface pairs a soft, illustrated visual language with data that stays easy to scan: each core module — Journal, Quick Notes, Questionnaires, Goal-setting — gets its own muted pastel color and a hand-drawn character illustration, turning what could read as a clinical self-tracking tool into something that feels warm and personal. That same color logic carries into the Life areas progress bars, so a user can see at a glance how family, career, health, or relationships are doing without parsing a single number. A cream, low-contrast background and a handwritten-style wordmark keep the product feeling like a private journal rather than a productivity dashboard.

Journal

A rich-text journal that doubles as a home for structured thinking: entries support bold, strikethrough, underline, and both bulleted and numbered lists, and a completed questionnaire — like a BIG decision — can be published straight into it, with a lightbulb icon marking every entry that started as a structured insight so it never gets lost among the day-to-day notes.

Life Areas & Goal-setting

Mirello organizes personal growth into a "Core life area" framework — Recreation and Lifestyle, Health and Fitness, Family and Friends, Career, and Love and Romance — so a vague ambition like "get my life together" becomes five trackable categories instead of one overwhelming goal. A "Life systems" view scores each area as a percentage, color-coded from green to pink, with that score generated by the linked Progress evaluation questionnaire rather than entered by hand. Opening one area — Health & fitness, for example — breaks it down into individual goals with their own progress bar and a checklist of concrete tactics, like "wake up at the same time every day," so tracking a life area never turns into an empty to-do list.

Questionnaires

Four structured questionnaires — Progress evaluation, Problem-solving, Making big decisions, and Annual review — each carry a plain-language description of what they're for and a "last completed" date, turning reflection into a habit you can track rather than a one-off exercise. An explainer screen grounds the whole feature in a simple, relatable insight: the same "aha moment" that comes from explaining a problem out loud to someone else, engineered into a guided set of questions you can work through on your own. Beyond the four built-ins, a question library lets users pull prompts from any category into a custom questionnaire — like "Prioritising my time" — mixing, reordering, and adding their own questions before saving it.
